40th Annual Wilmington Riverfest Celebration

On October 5th and 6th, the 40th Annual Wilmington Riverfest will take place in Historic Downtown Wilmington on Water Street from the foot of Market Street to Cape Fear Community College. Each year, tens of thousands of people flock to the area for family fun! Here is a little bit of what you can expect at this year’s event in Wilmington, North Carolina:

Live Music

On Friday, October 4th, Striking Copper will take the stage at 6:30pm and then 20 Ride (Zac Brown Tribute) will perform at 8pm. The next day, 5 acts are scheduled, including Starkey, Massive Grass and Tuesday’s Gone (Skynyrd Tribute).

Street Fair

A festival isn’t a festival without gooey, greasy goodness! Bask in the scent of smoked turkey legs, waffle cones, popcorn and so much more. In addition to the food vendors, there will be several artists selling everything from paintings to woodcarving to jewelry to sculptures.

Classic Car Show

From 10am to 6pm on Saturday, October 6th, the Sun Coast Cruisers will host a classic car show. The Sun Coast Cruisers is a family oriented car club with a membership of 100 families.

Antique Car Show

On Sunday, October 7th at 10:30am, the Cape Feat Chapter of the Antique Auto Club of America, the oldest and largest club in the Wilmington area affiliated with the national organization, will put on an antique car show. The Cape Fear Chapter currently has over 90 members, so expect a large show!

Kidz Zone

There are also plenty of things for the kiddos to do! The Riverfest will have loads of inflatables, rides, stage events and activities.
